2006 Award Winners for Innovation & Excellence

The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) has announced the winners of the eighth annual National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships at an awards dinner and presentation held at the Downtown Toronto Hilton Hotel on the evening of November 20, 2006.

Winner of the Gold Award for Project Financing was the partnership of Bilfinger Berger BOT Inc. and the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority (TransLink) for the Golden Ears Bridge project.

The Gold Award for Infrastructure was presented to the partnerships of EPCOR Water Services Inc. and BC Ministry of Agriculture and Lands for the Britannia Mine Water Treatment Plant project.

The Silver Award for Service Delivery was awarded to the partnership of the Archives Ontario, Ministry of Government Services and Archives ONE Limited Partnership for the Archives of Ontario – Offsite Archival Storage project.

Two Awards of Merit, for Project Financing and one for Infrastructure were also presented.

Award of Merit, for Project Financing for the partnership of the New Brunswick Highway Corporation, Government of New Brunswick, Ministry of Transportation and SNC-Lavalin Capital Inc. for the Trans-Canada Highway project.

Award of Merit, for Project Financing for the partnership of BC Ministry of Transportation and Bilfinger Berger BOT Inc. for the Kicking Horse Canyon – Phase 2 project.

The Award of Merit for Infrastructure was presented to the partnership of the Regional Municipality of Niagara and the Niagara Biosolids Corporation, Integrated Municipal Services for the Niagara Biosolids Facility project.

The 2006 Champion Award was presented to Michael H. Wilson, the Ambassador to the United States for Canada. Mr. Wilson was the Chair of The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships from 2000 to 2006 presiding during a period of exceptional growth in public-private partnerships across Canada. Mr. Wilson is the seventh recipient of the Champion Award. Previous recipients have included the late James MacLaren, Donald Macdonald, Mac Carson, Glenna Carr, the late Chuck Wills and Gary Collins.
