Detailed case study of the Humber River Hospital, the 2015 Gold Award for Infrastructure winner.
The new Humber River Hospital P3 project, a partnership of Humber River Hospital and Plenary Health Care Partnerships, replaces three older hospitals with North America's first fully digital hospital. One of Canada's largest acute-care hospitals, serving a catchment area of 850,000 residents in northwest Toronto, it is also the most energy-efficient hospital of its size in North America, incorporating digital technologies in the design, operations and maintenance of the facility to reduce its operating costs and carbon footprint and improve patient care. The hospital opened its doors to the public in October 2015.
This 34-page case study provides details on the elements that made this project the Gold Infrastructure Award winner. Information on the project includes: quick facts, procurement process, structure of the agreement, financial arrangements, risk allocation, benefits, communications, labour, monitoring, innovative features, testimonials and partner contacts.
