CCPPP Candid Conversations: Tim Murphy, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner, McMillan LLP, & Chairperson, Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA)

Wednesday, April 6, 2022 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (EDT)
Make plans to join us for our upcoming Candid Conversation with special guest Tim Murphy, CEO and Managing Partner, McMillan LLP, & Chairperson, Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) in conversation with the Council's President and CEO Lisa Mitchell.

Murphy, a former chief of Staff to Canada’s prime minister, assists consortia, lenders and governments in project financing major infrastructure assets across Canada. He has extensive experience in construction, energy and procurement and is currently chair of the public authority building the Gordie Howe Bridge through a P3 model.

Other recent transactions include the Finch LRT, Champlain Bridge, the Alderville First Nation Solar Farm and the Hurontario LRT. He is also the author of the leading text Public-Private Partnerships in Canada: Law, Policy and Value for Money and is the author/editor of the textbook Construction Law in Canada.

In our discussion with Murphy, we’ll reflect on the current state of the P3 market in Canada, which many of our members feel is at an evolutionary point with new models and challenges in some asset classes. We’ll also probe the importance of Value for Money (VfM) in the Canadian model and whether it needs to evolve as the model evolves, as well as avenues for P3s in new asset classes such as broadband and clean energy.

As always, members are encouraged to ask questions of our guest speakers!
