CCPPP Statement on PPP Canada
PPP Canada has been instrumental in developing a P3 approach which has contributed to Canada’s global best-in-class reputation. Among other things, PPP Canada has provided foundational support in the form of guidance and expertise to all levels of government exploring the P3 model. It is important that we not lose the historical, institutional memory and experience acquired over the past decade.
We are confident the federal government will continue to explore ways to provide that same depth of guidance and expertise to provinces, territories, municipalities and indigenous communities that are considering this innovative procurement approach.
The federal government has made historic commitments to infrastructure in the first 2 years of its mandate and Minister Sohi made it clear that “P3s will continue to play a critical role in the delivery of infrastructure across this country.”
Moving forward, P3 procurement and the Canada Infrastructure Bank will be useful companion tools for the federal government as it pursues its ambitious agenda to deliver critical, transformational infrastructure across Canada.
On behalf of our members, the Council would like to express our gratitude to John McBride and the team at PPP Canada for their efforts and years of support in promoting smart, innovative, modern approaches to infrastructure delivery.
